Contains the following type of materials: photographs. General description of the collection: Norman E. Hartman photograph collection covers the career of coast artillery officer, Colonel Hartman from his entry into the Army until his retirement in 1953. Although he was in service during three major wars, there is no photo coverage of any of them. The bulk of the collection falls on two main areas. The first is of coast artillery subjects at Forts Shafter, Randolph, and Barry, 1923-1936. The second is of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) activities at Fordham University, 1947-1950. There is a nice bunch of portraits of Colonel Hartman throughout his career. Also included are numerous postcard views of French cities from the 1918 period. In box two is a German photo / map book from 1943 of the Italian coast at Salerno and Paestum.
